Lollapalooza-Tied Music, ‘FORMAT’ Arts Festival Comes to Bentonville
C3 Presents – the Austin-based concert promoters responsible for festivals such as Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo – and New York-based TRIADIC have announced the FORMAT festival, which will premiere in Bentonville September 23-25 at private Sugar Creek Airstrip.
With cultural partners such as Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, The Momentary and OZ Brands, FORMAT (For Music, Art and Technology) will unify live music with visual and performing arts. Featuring world-renowned international and local artists and musicians, there will be special performances and surprise acts throughout the festival.

With 70 musical artists on the program, including names such as Rüfüs Du Sol, Beach House, the War On Drugs, Nick Cave, Khruangbin, Phoenix, Jungle and The Flaming Lips, the festival will include several immersive venues with two traditional stages, as well than more abstract and obscure venues showcasing exterior designs that will be one-of-a-kind.
Festival tickets include three-day general admission, three-day VIP packages and three-day platinum packages, with the option of on-site hotel and camping experience packages going on sale Friday, April 22. The presale by SMS will begin at 10 a.m. , and public sales will begin at noon. Tickets can be purchased here.
FORMAT features a host of entertainment offerings, including a large-scale light installation by Marinella Senatore, a multi-room speakeasy with Justin Lowe and Jonah Freeman, a barn from Toiletpaper Magazine transformed into a nightclub by artist Maurizio Cattelan, a sculpture interactive textiles by Pia Camille and more.
“FORMAT represents a new type of festival, placing the visual and performing arts on the same level as live music, creating a seamless and unified experience. Visitors will encounter large-scale installation areas and unconventional venues created by a range of internationally acclaimed artists alongside an eclectic roster of musical acts,” said Elizabeth Edelman, Mafalda Millies and Roya Sachs, the co-founders of TRIADIC and creators of FORMAT, in a statement. “We hope to stimulate curiosity and discovery, and produce a memorable event on this beautiful stretch of land hidden away in Bentonville.”
FORMAT invites attendees to “Meet Us in Oz” and explore the outdoors as well as local public art available at Moshe Safdie, Crystal Bridges, The Momentary, and CACHE, a shared collaborative space for artists from northwest Arkansas.
