John Legend will perform for the first time in Egypt – Music – Arts & Culture

The All of Me singer will take the stage at Paya Resort, a luxurious lifestyle destination with sandy beaches and breathtaking views on Egypt’s northern coast on July 22.

Legend is one of only 15 artists to have won the quartet of awards celebrating excellence in television, recording, film and theater: an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony.

Famous for his charismatic voice, the 43-year-old singer, songwriter, actor and producer has seven studio albums to his credit and numerous collaborations with other artists.

His last album Bigger Love (2020) was written before the COVID-19 pandemic and overlapped with the George Floyd protests. Legend expressed his hope that the album brings joy and uplifts the protesters.

The promotional tour began in September 2021 and the album won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Album at the 63rd Grammy Awards.

Also in 2020, Legend performed at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai as part of the Dubai Shopping Festival, bringing all his famous hits such as Glory from the film Selma and Green Light, an all-time favorite from his studio album Evolver from 2008, and Ordinary People from his 2004 Grammy-winning debut album.

The Grammy winner is among A-list stars who have added Egypt to their schedule, like Grammy-winning American band the Black-Eyed Peas who performed at the Pyramids of Giza in 2021, and American pop rock band Maroon 5 who also performed at the historic site as part of their world tour.

Ticket prices for the stars of the John Legend concert are EGP 1,500 ($88).
