DENVER MUSIC ARTS: Denver Music Gets Another Chance With $ 125,000 In Grants

DENVER (KDVR) – Denver music is about to receive a helping hand from some local funds dedicated to keeping the arts running.

Denver Arts & Venues has announced that $ 125,000 in grants will be awarded to Denver-based music projects through their 2021 application, available October 15 through November 12. Grants will be provided by the Denver Music Advancement Fund and PS You Are Here.

The 2021-2022 grants don’t come a second too early. The pandemic has hit the arts hard, causing the loss of nearly 30,000 jobs in Denver’s creative sector. According to the 2020 Denver Creative Economy Report, $ 1.4 billion in industry sales were also lost in the early months of the pandemic.

“Grant opportunities such as the Denver Music Advancement Fund and PS You Are Here are important to recovering, restarting and revitalizing our creative economy,” said Denver Arts & Venues Executive Director Ginger White Brunetti.

Funding applicants can apply to both PSYAH and DMAF, and are invited to attend a virtual briefing on October 28 at 6 p.m. Registration for the meeting can be found here.
